Mr. Head died Wednesday at the Caldwell Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Palestine Baptist Church, a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 164 F&AM, and he had served on the Caldwell Parish School Board from 1948 to 1954.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Onie Head of Columbia; four sons, Mr. Valrus Head and Mr. J. R. Head, Jr, both of Columbia, Mr. Roy Head of Tyler, Texas, and Mr. Troy Head of Fairfield, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Johnson of Pascagoula, Miss.; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
