The funeral of Mrs. Katie Alger, 77, Columbia, was at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Riser and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. J. D. Enterkin and Virgil Wilson officiating. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery near Grayson. Mrs. Alger died Thursday en route to a Monroe hospital after a brief illness.
Survivors include a son, Valrus E. Head of Columbia, a brother, H. B. May of West Monroe; a granddaughter, Mrs. Loraine Legg of Columbia; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dale Beavers, Donnie Beavers, H. A. Alger, Freeland May and Kenneth May.
