Argie Acres, 91, of Oneida, passed away December 18, 2007, at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida.

Born February 8, 1916, he was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Rhodes and Bertha Belle Reed Acres; his first wife and mother of his four sons, Opal Payne Acres; brothers: Audney Acres and wife, Thelma, Milford Acres and wife, Eva, Lloyd Acres and wife, Artie, Silas Acres and wife, Sadie, and Alton Acres; and, two sisters: Lennie Jones and husband, Benton, and Loma Tompkins.

He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church, a member of Oneida Lodge #695, a Master Mason, and Scottish Mason of Cincinnati Valley Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Leora Acres; sons: Ron Acres and wife, Betty, Roy Acres and wife, Sandy, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Randy Acres and wife, Sandy, of Naples, Fla., Robert Acres and wife, Marilyn, of Oneida; step-daughters: Margaret Davis and husband, Herbert, of Oneida, and Barbara Posey and husband, Everett, of Knoxville; one sister, Eva Davis and husband, Joseph (Joe), of Oneida; sister-in-law, Mary 011ie Acres of Perry, Ga.; six grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives

Funeral service was conducted December 20, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Marcum and Dr. David McNabb officiating. Graveside service was conducted December 21, at Hazel Valley Cemetery. West-Murley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements
