She married Henry Ellis on March 5, 1854 in Macon County, Missouri (born c1825 in Kentucky, and died on or about November 2, 1862 in Macon County, Missouri, (death date varies from October 30 to November 2, 1862). I have not yet found burial information for Henry.

Henry Ellis was a soldier in the Union Army; he enlisted in the Union Army, 27th Regiment Infantry Volunteers (Missouri), Company A, on August 10, 1862 at Hudson, Missouri, rank: Private. Henry was mustered on September 4, 1862 to B. Brks, MO. (Benton Barracks in St. Louis (Missouri).

From the record of the 1863 Pension Case of his widow, Eliza Ellis; The story seemed to be that Henry Ellis had contracted a sickness while in the service of his duty. The Regiment Surgeon didn't think he could recover, so he gave permission to John Ellis, Henry's dad, to take him from the hospital to his home in Macon County, Missouri. Within a few miles of his home, Henry died at the home of his brother, Isaac Ellis, in Macon, Macon County, Missouri of a sickness on or about October 31, 1862. His military record says he died on November 2, 1862.

In the 1860 Census, Eliza is listed as 'B Eliza Ellis', age 35, living in Narrows Township, Macon County, Missouri.

In the 1870 Census, Eliza was age 40, living in the household of her older brother, Jacob Bell, age 60, in Macon County, Missouri, along with four of her children from Henry; Lucinda, age 15, James A., age 11, Calvin, age 9, and Henry F., age 7, and the family of Jacob, his wife, Virginia Bell, age 26, and their son, Robert Bell, age 2.

In the 1880 Census, Eliza was listed as 'widowed', age 55, birthplace – Virginia, father's birthplace – Maryland, mother's birthplace – Maryland, and living in the household of George F. Allen, age 45, the husband of her daughter, Lucinda, in Valley Township, Macon County, Missouri, along with her daughter, Lucinda, age 25, and the children of George & Lucinda, Eliza A., age 7, Mary M., age 5 and William F., age 2, and James F., less than 1 year old.

In the 1900 Census, Eliza was age 74, marital status – widowed, living in the household of George F. Allen, age 65, the husband of her daughter, Lucinda, in Valley Township, Macon County, Missouri, along with her daughter, Lucinda, age 45, years married – 28, and the children of George & Lucinda, Mollie, age 24, marital status – single, James, age 20, marital status – single, Rofe, age 7, Ella, age 16, Rowena, age 11, Lavinea, 15.

On her death certificate from 1911, cause of death is stated as – 'Died Suddenly, no physician called'.
