Edna Elizabeth Fritsch, 84, a longtime Sedro-Woolley resident passed away on Wednesday, Jan 24 2007 at the Life Care Center of Mount Vernon.
She was born on September 12, 1922 in Emmett, Idaho, the daughter of Sydney & Nellie (Gough) Pitman.
She made her home in Idaho until 1936 when her family moved to Big Lake area.
On January 19, 1943 Edna was united in marriage to Emil Albert Fritsch in Mount Vernon and they made their first home in Big Lake and Edna would travel to Oak Harbor were she worked in housekeeping at N.A.S. Whidbey Island until they purchased a 40 acre farm in Sedro-Woolley. After cleaning all the stumps they went into the dairy farming business and raised their family. Edna enjoyed being a home maker, wife, mother and grandmother. Her hobbies included farming,cooking,canning,gardening and reading. After retiring she took up knitting, oil painting, ceramics and activies at the Sedro-Woolley Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney & Nellie; by her husband, Emil in 1980, a grandson, Christopher Fritsch in 1972; 4 brothers Roy, Carl, Harold and Sydney Pitman and 3 sisters, Leatha Anderson, Nellie Johnson and Dorothy Shoemaker.
Edna is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law Ken & Lorraine Fritsch and their children. Lisa Swanberg and her husband Steve and their chijdren, Colby Brendon and Shelby Lynn; and Jennifer Fritsch and her companion Jarrid Zimmerman. Her loving Daughter, Kathy Lipsey and her husband Ed and their children, Victor L. & Brian R.Schroder and Joan E. & Linda K. Lipsey. Especially dear to Edna are her two great-grandchildren. Colby & Shelby; 3 sisters, Nora Buck, Alberta Swihart and Bernice Vine and Numerous nieces and nephews,great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.
Graveside Inurnment services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Sedro-Woolley Union Cemetery with Pastor Steve Lotze officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Lemler Chaple. Sedro-Woolley
