Mary Elizabeth Abel, 64, of Duck Hill died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1987, at her residence. Memorial services were conducted Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 3 p.m. from Duck Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. George Stewart and the Rev. Johnny Hutchison preached. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. She was a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church, the Homemakers Club and the Duck Hill Birthday Club.
Survivors include her husband, Manley Abel of Duck Hill; a daughter, Ann Abel Allgood of Duck Hill: three brothers, Charles R. Barnett of Warner Robins, Ga., George William Barnett of Hazel Green, Ala. and Joe H. Barnett of Franklinton, La.; three sisters, Phyllis Arlington of Coffeeville, Marie Tate of Carthage and Dorothy Veazey of Memphis; four grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
