Loys Pearl Bass, 73, of Steinhatchee, Fla., died Friday Jan. 14, 1994, at the V.A. Hospital in Lake City, Fla. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham. The Rev. Vaughn Farnell officiated. Burial was in the Macedonia Cemetery.
Born July 16, 1920 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late Nola Fulford Bass and the late William Bass. He was a retired butcher and was a member of the American Legion Post 144, V.F.W. in Steinhatchee, Fla., and was in the United States Navy during WW II. He was also a member of the Jena Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Bass of Steinhatchee, Fla.; one son, Kenneth Bass of Newville, Ala.; five daughters, Linda Gore and Deloris Curles, both of Albany, Dorothy Libby of Putney, Faye Dekle of Cairo, and Debra Godwin of Pelham; two sisters, Johnnie Hart of Lakeland, Fla., and Mary Olas of Steinhatchee, Fla.
Active pallbearers were William Gore, Ernie Butler, Leland Curles, Steven Taylor, Tony Bass and Bill Butler. Braswell Funeral Home of Pelham was in charge of arrangements.
