William Bass 68 yrs of age and well known Pelham man, died suddenly at his home here Tuesday afternoon. A Veteran of World War 1, he was a member of the local Legion post and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Flora Wilson Bass, one son L. P. Bass, Two daughters, Mrs. Coy Hart and Mrs. Jessie Gregory of Plant City, Fla. Two stepsons, Thomas Paramore of Sylvester and Pfc William A Hughes of Ft Benning, Ga. 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; Three brothers, Lonnie and Alton of Pelham and Jim Bass of Meigs. His five sisters are, Mrs. Sam Johnson of Pelham, Mrs. Grover Rollins of Ochlocknee, Mrs. Roscoe Owens of Meigs, Mrs. Roy Miller of Thomasville and Mrs. Ray Morrell of Pelham.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. A. J. Cook and Rev Jack Alderman officiating.
Pallbearers were members of Smith-Spence American Legion Post.
Braswell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
