Mrs. Sandra Salita Bass Bishop passed away at her residence Friday, June 26, 1981. Rites for Mrs. Bishop were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 1981, at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Neal Hagar officiating, interment following at the church cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers were Ricky Keene, Larry Bishop, Tommy Taylor, Gary Meadows, Ben Roberts, Henry Andrews, Leland Butler, and Terry Bell.
Mrs. Bishop was born in Pelham, Ga., Oct. 10, 1944 to Loys Pearl and Audrey Wilson Bass of Steinhatchee, Fla. She was a homemaker and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Bishop of Cairo; three sons, Bill Butler, Ernest Butler, and Steven Taylor, all of Cairo; a daughter, Miss Melissa Butler of Cairo; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Loys P. Bass, Steinhatchee, Fla., formerly of Pelham, Ga.; one brother, Kenneth Bass of Blakely, Ga.; five sisters, Mrs. Richard Gore, Mrs. Deloris Curles and Mrs. Dorothy Libby, all of Albany, Ga., Mrs. Faye Dekle of Germany, and Mrs. Debra Godwin of Grady County; and her father and mother- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis H. Bishop of Cairo. Clark Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
