Stanley O. Aase, 93, of Owatonna, died at the Cedarview Nursing Home on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008.

Stanley was born on May 18, 1915, in Merton Township of Steele County, Minn. He was the son of George and Laura (Christie) Aase. He married Irene Sower in June of 1938 at Moland Lutheran Church. Following their marriage they farmed for many years until retirement in the early 1980s.

They moved into Owatonna from their Merton Township farm in the early 1990s. Stanley was a life-long member of the Moland Lutheran Church and had served on its cemetery board for many years. He had a real joy for life and caring for animals.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; four sons, Bernard (Alexis) of Arizona, Merland (Linda) of Arizona, Lauren (Marilou) of Texas, Brian (Sharon) of West Concord, Minn.; one daughter, Janet (Bill) Donner of California; five sisters, Mabel Sanborn of Washington, Georgia Vincent of Owatonna, Gladys Chinder, Marie Ditty and Jean Aase all of Minneapolis; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Moland Lutheran Church. An hour of visitation will precede the service on Friday at the church. Interment will be in the Moland Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Moland Lutheran Church. The Brick-Meger Funeral Home of Owatonna is in charge of the arrangements.
