Irene was born on March 6,1918 in Waseca County. She was the daughter of Levi and Carrie (Eppembach) Sower. She married Stanley Aase in June of 1938 at Moland Lutheran Chruch. Following their marriage they farmed for many years until retirement in the early 1980's. They moved into Owatonna from their Merton Township farm in the early 1990's. Irene was a life-long member of the Moland Lutheran Church and had served with the Ladies Aid for many years. She loved gardening and flower arranging, and worked many years for Cashman's Greenhouse in Owatonna.
She is survived by four sons Bernard (Alexis) of Arizona, Merland (Linda) of Arizona, Lauren (Marilou) of Texas, Brian (Sharon) of West Concord; one daughter Janet (Bill) Donner of California; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, a daughter, two sons, and 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 17th, at 1130 a.m. at the Moland Lutheran Church. Visitation will precede the service from 10:30 to 11:30 AM on Saturday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Moland Lutheran Church.
