"Mrs. Gladys S. Fisher, age 93, died Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton where she had been a resident since March 28, 1983. She was the mother of Paul Fisher and Marjorie Smith, Chillicothe residents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt with Brother Mark Peck officiating. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery.

Mrs. Fisher was born Oct. 7, 1892, on a farm north of Humphreys, a daughter of John M. and Emily M. Dunlap West. She attended St Joseph Academy, Chillicothe, and Liberty Girls School, now William Jewell College, Liberty. She married Cliff L. Fisher on June 26, 1910, at Humphreys. They lived in Dunlap and later on a farm northeast of Humphreys. Mrs. Fisher remained on the farm after her husband's death until 1941.

She was employed at the Girls Industrial Home in Chillicothe from 1941 until 1956, and from 1956 to 1964, she worked as a practical nurse in Plymouth, Ind. After her retirement in 1964, she made her home with her children. Mrs. Fisher was a member of Humphreys Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Fisher of Chillicothe and Forrest Fisher of Trenton; two daughters, Mildred May of Trenton and Marjorie Smith of Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Emily Tibbetts; an infant son; two grandsons; and 14 brothers and sisters."
