Ursula Jane West was born in Humphreys, Mo., where she was married to James Meekins. Twenty-one years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Meekins came to Colorado where they settled in Morgan county, near Fort Morgan. There they thrived and prospered and won a place in the hearts of Morgan county people.
Mrs. Meekins is survived by her husband, who is 51 years old. A son, Noel Meekins, lives near the parental home northeast of Fort Morgan. Another son, Marion Meekins, lives at 1002 Ensign St. She was a grandmother to four children. Four sisters and three brothers live in Missouri. One sister is dead. Her father, John M. West, still lives in Humphreys, Mo.
Mrs. Meekins joined the Christian church at Humphreys three years ago. She was known through her community as a kindly woman and a good woman, and her passing is mourned by a large group of friends who knew and appreciated her sterling character."
