SAFFORD - Milford William Kempton, 86, a Solomonville postmaster for 33 years before retiring, died Dec. 23, 1985, at Mount Graham Community Hospital. Mr. Kempton was a native of Safford and had lived in the area all his life. He was a high priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served five missions for the church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby; daughters, Laverna Willis and Lanetta Bogart; sons, Ira T. and Bill Jr.; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at 9 a.m. today, with services at 10 a.m., at the Solomon Ward Chapel of his church. Safford Funeral Home made the arrangements.
