SAFFORD - Services for Emert T. Kempton, 86, of California, who died Jan. 18, 1979, in Upland, Calif., will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Safford Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Kempton, a rancher in the Gila River for 40 years, was Graham County sheriff from 1936 to 1940.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; son, E. Merrill; two daughters, Patsy Ann Ellsworth and Mrs. Lorraine Vogelman; one brother, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
