Ann was the daughter of Robert Collier and Elizabeth Green. On 11 June 1833 in Lenoir County, North Carolina, Ann married William Donnell Cobb. They had the following children: John Robert, Dr. Needham Bryan Cobb, Betty Green, Whitfield, William Henry Harrison, Ann, Harriet, Joseph George Willis, and Maria Carolina. Ann and William's graves are very near the Confederate Monument.
