Daniel arrived from his birthplace England/Wales Nov. 9, 1830 at age 20* on the ship Monongahela having sailed from Liverpool, Great Britain.

Married Mary E. who died July 16, 1872

Daniel died at Duncansville June 24, 1875 at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 19 days. The deceased came from Wales to this county when he was eighteen* years old. For the greater part of the time since that he lived in Duncansville, where by continued industry, economy and good management he secured a good home and the comforts of life. To the Lord's cause he was a cheerful giver. He lived the religion he professed, calmly wore the pains of long continued affliction and died trusting his merciful Christ. Mr. Hicks, has been for a long time a member of the Hollidaysburg Baptist Church. His funeral was largely attended by relations and friends.
