Marilyn J. (Altemus) Walters, 74, of Allegheny Township, died Monday, June 23, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born March 28, 1934, in Freeport, a daughter of the late Joseph Altemus, who died in 1989, and Isabel (Shearer) Altemus, who died in 2004. She was employed by Kiski Area School District and Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church. Marilyn was a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church, Sarver, where she was a member of Silver Saints. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Leechburg. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, puzzles, singing in the church choir and being with her family. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lynn B. Walters; four daughters, Linda Davidson, of Mansfield, Texas, Renee (David) Dressel, of Allegheny Township, Cheryl (Rob) Zanotto, of Allegheny Township, and Mary Jo (Bob) McLaughlin, of North Richland Hills, Texas; brother, Harold D. (Isabel) Altemus, of Clearfield; sister, Carol (Leonard) Stivason, of West Leechburg; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald L. Altemus, Kenneth Altemus and Robert Altemus. Friends will be welcomed by her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at CLAWSON'S, Second at Main streets, Leechburg. Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of ceremonies at 11 a.m. Thursday in Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church, Sarver, with her pastor, the Rev. John P. Kuert Sr., officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
