Carol A. (Altemus) Stivason, 75, formerly of West Leechburg, was welcomed into her Lord's peaceful presence Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia in Cabot. A daughter of the late Joseph M. Altemus and Mary Isabel (Shearer) Altemus, she was born June 25, 1941, in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County. Carol was a homemaker and very active member of Harvest Baptist Church in Natrona Heights. She had also been a former member of Evangel Heights Church in Sarver. Having been blessed with a musical gift that she used to glorify her Lord, Carol found pleasure in singing that went as far back as singing in a trio with her siblings. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, cross-stitching, reading, working with computers, watching Nascar events and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Zander. Survivors include two daughters, Tracie E. Stivason, of Verona, and Amy M. Stivason, of Leechburg; her grandson, Zander A. Stivason; a brother, Harold Dean Altemus, of Clearfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard H. Stivason, Aug. 28, 2012; a daughter, Diane M. Stivason; a sister, Marilyn Walters; two brothers, Donald Altemus and Robert Altemus (who was a purple heart recipient and killed during the Korean Conflict).

At her family's request, there will be no public visitation or services. Interment will be made at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
