The funeral was Friday at 2 p.m., at the Union Church, Hardy. The Rev. Danny Jackson was the officiant. Interment was in Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin. Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The son of John and Minnie Meyer Bargen, he was born Oct. 24, 1917, on a farm near Cadams.
He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church, Smyrna, and he attended grade school and high school at Cadams.
May 8, 1940, he was united in marriage to Florence Nelson, This union was blessed with the birth of three sons and one daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Bargen made their home on a farm along the Hardy-Ruskin road for 28 years. In the summer of 1968, they moved to Superior. He was employed at Mid-America Dairymen, Inc., and retired in 1978.
He was a member of the Hardy Union Church, Danish Brotherhood No, 161, Elks Lodge, No. 2197, and a former member of the Masonic Lodge.
Bargen was an avid fan of Cornhusker football and basketball.
Survivors are his wife, Florence; sons, Gary Bargen of Lincoln, Denny Bargen of Columbus and Bob Bargen of Milford: daughter, Barbara Parrott, Overland Park., Kan.; sisters, Della Oltmans of Nelson, Edna Jacobsen of Aurora, Colo., and Mayme Frey of Wichita; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
