Standard Oil Worker, Forty One Years Dies in Hotel

James T. Dempsey was found dead last night in his room at a hotel near where he lived at 1300 Pennsylvania avenue. Mr. Dempsey was employed at the Standard Oil company where he was a shipping clerk in the tire department. He had been with the company for forty one years. He was born and reared in the Armourdale district and made his home at 638 Miami avenue until the 1951 flood forced him to lave. He was a veteran of World War I.

He leaves three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Steinhauser of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, 1617 Metropolitan avenue,, and Mrs. Kathryn Boring, 1624 New Jersey avenue, Kansas City, Kansas: three brothers William M. Dempsey 2220 Georgia avenue; Daniel A. Dempsey, Leavenworth Kansas and Stephen A. Dempsey, 15 South Tenth street.

Funeral services will be held at 7:45 o'clock Monday at the Butler chapel and at 8:15 O'clock at the Blessed Sacrament church. Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday night at the Butler chapel."

James Thomas Dempsey Jr. is the son of James and Mame Connors Dempsey. He is the brother of Ethel, Elizabeth, John, Eugene, William, Daniel, May and Celia.

He died of heart problems.

James is buried with his father and 2 other brothers at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Old Section 4, plot #202, right across from the cemtery office.
