Daniel is buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Old Section 4 in a family grave with his father and 2 other brothers in grave #202. The Dempsey family graves are located directly across from the cemetery office.

Daniel Dempsey, 59, RR 2, a resident of Leavenworth County for over 20 years, died Monday afternoon at Cushing Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for 10 days. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Dempsey was born June 2, 1901, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of James T and Mary Alice (Mame) Dempsey. He had worked in Leavenworth for several years in the factories and later learned to be a chef. He had been employed here, and at the time of his death operated a cafe at old Victory Junction. He married Miss Nina Harryman in Kansas City in 1929.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Nina Dempsey of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. Nina Fulks, Kansas City, KS and Mrs. Patricia Smith, RR 2; two sons, James Dempsey and Jack Dempsey, both of RR 2; two brothers William Dempsey and Stephen Dempsey, both of Kansas City, KS and two sisters Mrs. Catherine Boring, Kansas City, KS and Mrs. Nellie Steinhauser, Colorado Springs, CO and three grandchildren.
Funeral serves will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City. KS. Friends may call at the Sexton Chapel."
