Leroy was born Aug. 22, 19009, in Osmond, Unita County, Wyo., to John Charles Chadwick and Maud Bowles Chadwick. He grew up in the Emmett and Nampa areas and attended Emmett Grade School, Greenhurst Elementary and graduated from Nampa High School in 1927. He married Leta Bernice Field on June 21, 1931. in Nampa, Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple July 1, 1931. She preceded him in death on March 26, 1976, after 45 years of marriage.
He was a farmer and also worked as a milk hauler for the Carnation Company, and worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company in Nampa for 32 years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed playing the piano and dancing.
Surviving are daughter, Maurine (Jim) Allen, Orem, Utah, son, daughter, JoAnn (T. Glen) Haws, Beaverton, Oregon. Daughter, Charlotte (Leo) Hall, Orem, Utah, son, Ronald Chadwick, Warrenton, Oregon; son, Terry (Alayne) Chadwick, Idaho Falls; brother, Grant Peterson, Ontario, Oregon; sister, Darlene Terry, Redmond, Washington; 29 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma and Bertha; a half brother, Loren; and two grandchildren.
