Solemn Services For Mrs. Gertrude Fischer
Funeral services with a Solemn Requiem High Mass, at St. John's Church, Lastrup, were held for Mrs. Gertrude Fischer, Wednesday morning at 10. She passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Brainerd, Sunday evening, January 17 at 9:05. Celebrant of the Requiem was Father Frederick Kampsen, with Fr. Thomas Scott, Brainerd assisting as deacon and Fr. Bernard Kahlhamer, Perham, the subdeacon. Also present in the sanctuary was Fr. Francis Paquet, Brainerd. Interment was in the Lastrup cemetery.
Six grandchildren served as pallbearers, Jerome Fischer, James and Eugene Fischer, and Melvin, Kenneth and Harlan Schommer.
Honorary pallbearers wer Mrs. Peter Gross, Mrs. George Welle, Mrs. Otto Fuhrman, Mrs. Matt Stuckmayer, Mrs. Catherine Athman, and Mrs. Joe Boser.
A former resident of Lastrup, Mrs. Fischer resided the past ten years with her daughter, Loretta, in Brainerd. Formerly Gertrude Boehmer, she was born in Pierz, December 17, 1890, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boehmer, and received her education in the Pierz parochial schools. She married John Fischer May 19, 1908. He passed away March 10, 1944.
She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. John's Church, Lastrup, and of St. Francis Guild, Brainerd.
Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Mrs. George Schommer (Anna), and Herbert, Lastrup; Loretta, Brainerd; and Mrs. Rolland Loidolt (Cecilia), Raymond and Alvin, rural Pierz. There are 33 grandhcildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Sisters include Mrs. Barbara Schaefer and Mrs. Theo. Wagner (Amelia), Pierz; Mrs. James Jonas (Kathryn), Hastings; Mrs. Susan Bryette and Frances Boehmer, Minneapolis; Mrs. Theresa Coyle, Ohio; and Mrs. Anna Karezer, St. Peter.
