Marvin "Buddy" Wallace, 88, of Sikeston, MO. died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.
He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Sikeston, son of James F. and Ida Mae Smith Wallace. He and Ida Oliver were married Oct. 1, 1938, at Benton, Mo. She died Dec. 19, 2007.

Wallace worked 31 years at Reiss Dairy and had owned and operated Wallace Furniture Store. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include three sons, Richard "Sonny" Wallace of Wichita, Kan., Don Wallace of Avondale, Ariz., James Wallace of Jackson; a daughter, Sharon Taylor of Malden, Mo.; a sister, Helen Oliver of Sikeston; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, eight brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. John Bouldrey officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
