Lonnie Leroy Baggett, 80, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999, at a local hospital. Mr. Baggett was a lifelong resident of Uriah and a member of Mineola Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired farmer. Services were held Sunday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. in Mineola Baptist Church. The Revs. J.R. Turner and Paul Campbell officiated, and burial was in Mineola Cemetery with Atmore Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Baggett, and a grandson. He is survived by his wife, Zadie Dees Baggett of Uriah; four sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Evie Baggett and Ronald and Linda Baggett, all of Atmore, Junior and Janice Baggett of Lottie, and Kenny and Patricia Baggett of Uriah; four daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Curtis Jordan and Lois Baggett, all of Frisco City, Mary Ann and Edward Stewart of Georgiana, and Sharon and Sam Turberville of Uriah; five brothers, O'Neil Baggett, James Baggett, Jesse Baggett and Barney Baggett, all of Uriah, and Joe Mason Baggett of Jackson; two sisters, Willie Stacey of Uriah and Anna Mae Turberville of Uriah; and 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
