GRANDSON OF REVOLUTIONARY WAR CAPTAIN JOHN GEORGE OVERMIRE

OHIO PIONEER

Benjamin Obermier (aka Overmire) was the son of John Peter and Mary Eva (Hennig) Obermeier. He came to Perry County with his parents at the age of 12 and died there in 1826. His widow Magdalena (Hendricks) took the family to Sandusky Co., Ohio, in 1833.

Benjamin's name is spelled "Overmire" in Fairfield County Marriage records, but New Reading Cemetery records spell it Obermier.
