Chester Aubrey Mainard, 71, of Oak Grove died on April 10, 1980 at Independence Sanitarium and Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1908 in Garden City to Levi Abednego and Mary Alice (Davidson) Mainard. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was retired bricklayer. He is survived by his wife, Grace Lee (Jackson) Mainard; his sons, Chester Lee Mainard of Enid, Oklahoma, Douglas Corrigan Mainard of Gravois Mills, Gary Corbet Mainard of Blue Springs, and Kenneth Aubrey Mainard of Oak Grove; his daughter, Alta Joan Williams of Lake Lotawana; his brothers, Lewis Carroll "Ted" Maynard of Independence and Otto Howard Mainard of Portland, Oregon; his sisters, Alta Alice Strobel of Oak Grove and Ora Charlotte Smiley of Tallahassee, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Royer Funeral Home. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
