Fylies I. (Bangen) Roadhouse, 85, of Great Falls, died of natural causes Friday Aug 8, 2008 at her home.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra J. (Emilio) Vanni; sisters Mildred Gilstad of Great Falls and Arlone Wokasch of Lakewood, Calif.; brothers Harold (Harriet) Bangen of Great Falls, Orlean (Shirley) Bangen of Climax, Minn., Erwin (Bev) Bangen of Hot Springs, Mont., and Rodger (Marlys) Bangen of Eau Claire, Wis.; 11 grandchildren (her heart's delight), Danne Balek, Nancy Yetter, Chrisanna Yetter, Laura Vanni-Kelly, Carl, Ben and Adam Vanni, Wendy Pence, Jennifer Jevning, Stacy Corey and Kevin Jevning; 17 great-grandchildren, whom she loved to spend time with and who were very dear to her; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Fylies was born Sept, 20, 1922, in Climax, Minn., to Laura (Berg) and Helmer Bangen. She married Arnold Jevning in 1939 in Climax. They raised three children, Judith, Sandra and Richard, and moved to Great Falls in 1952. Fylies was employed in retail sales until her retirement.

She and George Roadhouse were married in 1973 in Great Falls.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, serving on council, circle, the quilting ministry and as a choir member for 35 years. She was also an active member of Sons of Norway and loved singing with the Swinging Seniors.

She was a lifelong artist with all forms of needlework, including embroidery, crocheting and hardanger, and in the last years produced scores of beautiful quilts she gifted to family, friends and many other worthy causes.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arnold Jevning; a daughter, Judith Jevning Cerkoney; a son, Richard Jevning; and her second husband, beloved George Roadhouse.
