Death Occurred Following An Illness Of Several Weeks – Funeral Will be Saturday
On Tuesday evening at 7:15 o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. Agnes Bares after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bares was admitted to St. Raphael's hospital at St. Cloud a few weeks ago where she was receiving medical aid and where her death occurred on Tuesday. She was suffering from cancer which was also given as the cause of her passing away.
Agnes Stumpf was born in Wisconsin May 1, 1864, and came to this vicinity with her parents a short time later, having lived here since. She attended the local schools and about 44 years ago her marriage to Hubert Bares took place. Mr. Bares until his death in 1920 conducted the Pierz Hotel in this village which is still conducted by the Bares family.
The deceased is survived by six children, Frank and John H. Bares, Mrs. Nick Meyer, Mrs. Gus Paulson, and Catherine and Loretta Bares, all of Pierz. Six brothers and sisters also survive, Mrs. Christine Rassier of Walla Walla, Wash., Mrs. Adelade Blake of Little Falls, Mrs. Fred Wicks of Winthrop and Frank, Henry and Theodore Stumpf of Pierz.
The remains were brought to Pierz Wednesday afternoon for burial. Burial service will be held in St. Joseph's church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
