Hubert Bares, a resident of Pierz for thirty-nine years and one of the most prominent and respected citizens of that village, died at his home Friday evening, at 11 o'clock from dropsy. He was 56 years old.
Mr. Bares was born in Cross Plains, Wis., in 1864. At the age of 17 years, he came to this county, settling in Pierz, where he has resided ever since. In 1892, he was married to Miss Agnes Stumpf. For a number of years he was engaged in the liquor and hotel business in that village.
A widow and seven children survive. The children are Peter, John, Frank, Katherine, Loretta, Marie and Mrs. Nick Meyer. All live in Pierz.
The funeral was held Tuesday morning from St. Joseph's church, in Pierz a number from Little Falls being in attendance.
