Newman, Feb. 18 - Final rites for James Nickolas Crawford, 76, retired equipment
operator and Newman resident 46 years, will be conducted tomorrow at 2 PM at
Davis Funeral Chapel..

Crawford died Saturday at a West Side hospital..

Surviving are his widow, Dela Louise Crawford of Newman; seven sons and
daughters, Silas W. of Stevinson and Mrs. Jay Schurtz, both of Stevinson, Otha
G. of Berkeley, Zena Munion and Robert D. of Modesto, James J. of Gustine and
Leonard J. of Auburn, and five brothers and sisters, William, Joe, John and Mrs.
Anna Harbke of Idaho and Mrs. Elva Weeks of Washington. .

Rev. J. J. Brittell will officiate. Interment will be in Stevinson Cemetery..

Sad News to Prairie Pioneers..

Mr. and Mrs. Andy Harbke of north of Nezperce received news of the death of a
brother in Tuesday's mail..

James Crawford, 76, of Stevenson, Calif., died February 16, according to a
letter received by his sister, Mrs. Harbke. He visited here on several
occasions, the last time about six years ago, and is remembered by a number of
the old-timers both at Nezperce and Craigmont. He is survived by his wife and
seven children. .
