Our loving, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Donna Lee Holfeltz Poplin, age 69, passed away December 11, 1999, in Sandy, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Donna was born September 9, 1930, in Vernal, Utah, the daughter of James and Effie Bernice Warby Holfeltz. She married Donald Ernest Poplin on April 1, 1949, in Yuma, Arizona. Donald preceded her in death on July 9, 1994.Donna had a warm smile that always let everyone know that everything was okay. Mom always held people in high regard and never said anything negative about another person. She was compassionate living life to the fullest. Mom showed exceptional talents in homemaking, crafts, and gardening. There was always a project that she was working on. Donna touched the lives of everyone she knew with her kindness and love for the Lord. She will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Utah and the many people that helped mom with their kindness and care giving.
Survivors include one son and two daughters, Dale (Shelly) Poplin, Draper, UT, Vickie (Greg) Frischknecht, Sandy,UT, Maurene (Gary) Riness, Sandy, Ut; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters, Jay (Florence) Holfeltz, Clark Duane (JoAnn) Holfeltz, Mary Dickson, Wilma (Willie) Smith, Glenda Rae (Gib) Brown, Bea Saccomanno, Lhea (Don) Hicken. Preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; and a sister, Darcy Sue Potter.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 1999, 12 noon, at the Sandy 13th LDS Ward, 586 East 8400 South. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
