Dwain Roy Vogler of Abilene, Texas, at age 65, passed away Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. A casual graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 25th at Eagle Colony Cemetery (1.4 miles south of Industrial Blvd on FM 1750, Abilene, Texas). Paige Baize will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, Texas.

Dwain was born in Roscoe, Texas on January 15th, 1943 to Henry and Hazel (Tribble) Vogler. Dwain married Joyce Volene Bryan in Ballinger, Texas on August 16, 1963. Dwain and Volene resided south of Abilene for the past 29 years. Dwain worked for West Texas Utilities from 1969 until 1982 and then returned to his roots of farming and ranching for the past 20 years. During his life of farming and ranching, Dwain was also a cattle buyer and was a member of the Brangus Association and the Texas Cattle Raiser's Association. Dwain was a member of the Highway 36 Church of Christ.

Preceding Dwain in death were his parents, Henry and Hazel Vogler; one son, Randy Lynn Vogler; three brothers, Ennis, Ellis, and Wesley Vogler; and one granddaughter, Braley Faye Vogler. He is survived by his wife, Volene Vogler, of Abilene; three sons, Donny Dwain Vogler and his wife Connie, Monty Glen Vogler and his wife Charlotte, Dan Edward Vogler and his wife Alaina, all of Abilene; one daughter, Karen Shay Baskett and her husband Mike, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; three sisters, Betty Louise Brown, of Seguin, Janie Ruth Cooper and Eris Fay Beard, both of Winters; ten grandchildren: Angie, Keri, Tanner, Brent, Hunter, Landon, Colby, Blake, Curry and Ashlynn; and two great-grandchildren, Laurel and Carter.

Memorials may be made in Dwain Vogler's honor to the Highway 36 Church of Christ, 10576 Highway 36, Abilene, Texas 79602.
