Betty Louise Brown passed away peacefully on the 20th of July, 2020 at Grace Care Northpoint in Tomball, TX at the age of 83.
Betty was born in Roscoe, TX on February 21st 1937.
She was preceded in her death by her parents Hazel (Tribble) Vogler and Henry Vogler, her brothers Ellis, Ennis, Wesley and Dwain as well as her sister Eris and her nephew Randy.
Betty is survived by her husband Newby Brown and her 3 children, Regina (John), Clayton (Stephanie) and Bret (Renee’) and her six grandchildren: Emily (Erik), Whitney (Aaron), Lauren (Ross), Weston (Griselda), Bret Jr. (Claire) and Sally, her sister Ruth Cooper, Sisters-in-Law, Carlene Carson and Volene Vogler, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
To her family, she was known as “Louise”. To her close friends, she was known as “Miss America” because of her beautiful smile. She so loved her children and grandchildren and her husband Newby of 64 years. She treasured her nephews and nieces and her great nephews and nieces and always enjoyed their visits.
Betty Louise graduated from Winters High School in 1955 and St. Phillips Nursing School in 1977.
While in high school, Betty met her love Newby. They were married in the Lutheran Church in Winters, TX and the started their family in San Antonio where Newby was getting out of the Air Force.
Prior to nursing school, Betty ran an in-home child-care – mostly for young medical school students. Those relationships inspired Betty to go to Nursing School.
Over the next several decades, Betty raised her family and worked as a Cardiac Care Nurse dedicating her life to family, friends, community, and her faith. Betty loved the church and she especially loved singing her favorite hymns.
Over the years, Betty lived in San Antonio, McAllen, Dallas and she and Newby retired in Seguin, TX.
Betty’s passion was what she called “her reading material”. She stayed up on the latest homeopathic remedies, vitamin regimes and her “Doctoring”. A runny nose never went “unDoctored” and she took care of everyone.
Betty loved to play 42 and Pinochle. She did not bid often, but when she did – you better watch out. Betty also loved gardening and cooking and she was very good at both.
