Daniel and Celia moved from TX to Indian Territory about 1903, and settled on a farm in Springhill community east of Lexington, where he farmed, ranched and bred/raised Arabian horses. They were early members of the Springhill FWB Church near their home.
He and Celia also helped raise two children (Thomas and Olive) of his and Celia's brother and sister, Amos, and Martha (Durham) LEE. In their older years they moved to Okla. City to be near their daughters who helped care for them. Grandpa Lee was a kind and gracious man, according to those who knew him.

Funeral services for Daniel W. Lee, 88, Oklahoma City farmer who died Tuesday night at his home, 2308 SW Grand Blvd., will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Springhill Church near Lexington under the direction of the Garrison Funeral Home. Lee, who died after a 4-month illness, had lived in Oklahoma City since 1920. Born in Texas May 1, 1856, he came to Oklahoma in 1903. Survivors include his wife, [Celia] 2308 SW Grand; a son, Hershel, McLoud; and three daughters, Mrs. Cassie Bernheiser, Mrs. Ettie Southworth, and Mrs. Dovie Yandell, all of Oklahoma City. Burial will be at Lexington Cemetery Friday.
