R. Everett Estes, 71 years old, 1543 North Spanish street, a retired carpenter, died at 10:45 a.m. today at a hospital here where he had been a patient two days.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Brinkopf-Howell Funeral Home, and burial will be at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Estes leaves three sons, Hubert Estes of Salem Ore., and Owen and Everett Estes Jr. of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel McMillillin [sic] of Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Harry Breedlove of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Cora A. Zimmerman Estes and Mrs. Addie Burlow of Cape Girardeau; a brother, J. H. Estes of Memphis, Tenn., and five grandchildren.
Born near Marble Hill, Sept. 25, 1878, he farmed there in his early life. He was married to Miss Lula McCullough in 1905 and was married to Lula Rowe in 1923 and who died June 3, 1931. He moved to Cape Girardeau in 1913 and engaged in the carpenter work until his retirement in 1944. He was a member of the Marble Hill Methodist Church.
