Mrs. J. W. Adams, 46 years old, died suddenly late Saturday night while visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. Ada Mitchell, at 325 South Sprigg street. Death was caused by blood clot of the heart, according to physicians.
Mrs. Adams was sitting on the front port of the Mitchell home conversing with members of the family when she was stricken, and she passed away a short time later after being moved into the house.
Mrs. Adams was born in Bollinger county, Feb. 15, 1881, but had resided in this county for a number of years. She was first married to Johnson Hinkle and later was married to Adams, who, with one daughter, three brothers, three sisters and her father, survive.
Mrs. A. Seabaugh of 514 South Middle street, with whom Mrs. Adams lived, is a daughter. The brothers are; R.E. Estes and E.E. Estes of the Red Star suburb, and J.H. Estes, of Memphis, Tenn.
The sisters are; Mrs. A. Gumpert of St. Louis, and Mrs. Cora Goodpasture and Mrs. Mitchell of Cape Girardeau. Her father is Ransom B. Estes of the Red Star suburb.
Short funeral services held at the Mitchell home at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, followed by additional services at Hobbs Chapel, where interment will be. Rev. H. C. Hoy, pastor of Centenary Methodist church, will conduct the services.
