RITES WILL BE SUNDAY
Ransom B. Estes, 79 years old, died from a complication of diseases at 5 a.m. today at his home in the Red Star suburb. He had been failing in health for several weeks.
Born in Bollinger County near Marble Hill on Dec. 16, 1851, Estes lived in that county until about 20 years ago. He was engaged in farming in Bollinger County and near this city. He was a member of Hobbs Chapel Methodist Church.
Estes is survived by three sons and tree daughters. The sons are R.E. and C.E. Estes of Cape Girardeau and J.H. Estes of Memphis, Tenn. The daughters are Mrs. Cora Goodpasture of Cape Girardeau, Mrs. A. Gumpert and Mrs. A. Mitchell of St. Louis. A brother, P.D. Estes, resides in Marble Hill. He also leaves 20 grandchildren. Mrs. Estes preceded her husband in death eight years ago.
The body was removed to the Walther Funeral Home and will remain there until 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon when funeral services will be conducted there. Rev. H.L. Taylor, pastor of Third Street Methodist Church, will conduct the services and interment will be in Hobbs Chapel cemetery.
