Seisel Newton Jonakin Jr. of Chattanooga, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 1996, at his home. He was 81.

Mr. Jonakin retired from his position as an electrical engineer from TVA after 38 years.
He was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a Boy Scout leader of Troop 46.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, attended UTC, Ohio State and graduated from UT at Knoxville.

He was a son of Seisel N. And Pearl Jolley Jonakin.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Case Jonakin; one son, Jon Jonakin, Cookeville, Tenn.; a daughter, Jerrie Jonakin Raines, Chattanooga; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Jonakin, both of Chattanooga; a sister, Patricia Worsham, Oak Ridge, Tenn., and two grandsons.

Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Susan Sneed, the Rev. Henry Groseclose and the Rev. Sullins Lamb officiating.

Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Case Jonakin; son, Jon Jonakin, Cookeville, Tenn.; daughter Jerrie Raines, Chattanooga; two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Jonakin, Chattanooga; sister, Patricia Worsham, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; two grandsons several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Susan Sneed, the Rev. Henry Groseclose and the Rev. Sullins Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
