Suddenly

Seisel N. Jonakin, 75, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died suddenly at his home Wednesday evening. Born in Obion County, Tenn., September 22, 1890, he was the son of the late James H. and Elena Jones Jonakin of the Chapel Hill Community.

He attended McFerrin School at Martin, Tenn., and after two years at Vanderbilt University, transferred to University of the South, Sewanee, where he graduated in 1912. He was connected with the National Life & Accident Insurance Company in Nashville for a number of years, later moving to Chattanooga where he was in the real estate business.

His wife, the former Pearl Jolley of this community, died in 1963. He is survived by four children, Seisel N. Jonakin Jr., Kenneth W. Jonakin, and Robert E. Jonakin of Chattanooga, and Mrs. Robert E. Worsham of Oak Ridge: eleven grandchildren; a stepmother, Mrs. Lee Ella Jonakin of Fulton; three sisters, Mrs. W. L. Jolley of Fulton, Mrs. Albert Owens of Union City, and Mrs. Pearl Weaver of Clinton; six half-sisters: Mrs. Jim Burke of Fulton, Mrs. Noble Butterworth of Paducah, Mrs. Robert Wade of Union City, Mrs. Clyde Lightfoot of Memphis, Mrs. Austin Jernigan of Tupelo, Miss., Mrs. Alton Kellams of Amarillo, Texas and one half-brother, James Henry Jonakin of Nashville.

Two half-sisters preceded him in death. He was the uncle of Billie Jr. and Fred Jolly and Mrs. A. W. Green Jr. of Fulton, and Mrs. David Stahr of Mayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. Saturday in Chattanooga.

South Fulton, Tenn., March 4 -- Seisel N. Jonakin, 75, formerly of the Chapel Hill community near here, died unexpectedly at his home in Chattanooga Wednesday night.

Mr. Jonakin was a real estate agent in Chattanoog. Before that he had been an employe of the National Life and Accident Insurance Co. in Nashville.

His wife, the former Pearl Jolley of the Fulton community, died in 1963.

Surviving are three sons, Seisel N. Jonakin Jr., Kenneth W. and Robert E. Jonakin, all of Chattanooga; a daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Worsham of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, a stepmother, Mrs. Lee Ella Jonakin of Fulton; three sisters, Mrs. W. L.
