Amy Ann Newhouse, daughter of John and Orpha Jones, was born February 3, 1882, near Ruskin, Nebraska and passed away April 21, 1972 at Nelson, Nebraska.

In 1901 she moved with her family to Nora, Nebraska.

On June 12, 1901 she was married to James Newhouse. Four children were born to this union, Roddy A., Cecil T., Laurine A. and Margery Mae.

Preceding her in death were her husband in 1960 and two children, Cecil in 1933 and Margery in 1942.

She lived all her life in Nuckolls County, except four years in Forest Grove, Oregon.

She was a long time and faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Nelson.

Survivors are Roddy A. of Wichita, Kansas; Laurine Kluherz of Torrington, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; a sister, Vivian Lanham of Bird City, Kansas and a brother, Elmer Jones of Nora, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 23, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Nelson, Nebraska. Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery. Klawitter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
