OBITUARY

THOMPSON

Ethel Laura Goltry Thompson, daughter of Frank and Mary Goltry, was born April 29, 1891 in Cedar Township, Lucas County and departed this life March 25, 1972 at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 25 days.

Her early life was spent in Cedar Township and she attended the Victory School.

On February 22, 1913 she united in marriage with Henry Roy Thompson of Russell. They spent four years in Green County, Iowa and then returned to reside on a farm west of Russell. Three sons came to bless this home, Clell, Lynn and Harold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goltry and one brother, Wright D. Goltry.

She leaves behind her husband, Roy of the home address; three sons, Clell of Des Moines, Lynn of Jefferson City, Mo., and Harold of Rockwell; three daughters by marriage, Velma, Anne and Hannah Thompson; three grandsons, Steven, Doran and Jay Thompson; three granddaughters, Judy and Dana Thompson and Lynn Ann Beyars; three great-grandchildren, Mark Beyars of Okinawa, Debra and Paul Thompson of Rockwell; two brothers, Carl and Leonard Goltry of Russell; other relatives and a host of friends.

She was baptized and joined the Methodist Church in Russell and remained a faithfull member until the time of her death. She is now a member of the church triumphant.

Services were held Tuesday, March 18 at the Woodman Funeral Home with the Rev. Wauneta McConnell officiating. Burial was in the Russell Cemetery.
