Will was the son of Frank and Isabel (Parker) Leggett. He was born May 15 1880 in Jefferson Twp, Linn Co, Missouri. His father died when he was almost five years old. Shortly thereafter, Belle moved with her boys and her father to Sedgwick County, Kansas. Belle went to Wichita to work and Will was raised by his grandfather, WB Parker, and his uncle, Fred Parker.

Will married Hazel Gise Mar 23 1908 in Sedgwick County, Kansas. They had one son, Lawrence. After Hazel developed asthma, the family moved to Colorado in 1919. They lived first in Trinidad, Colorado Springs, and then to Englewood.

He built a cabin in the mountains above Denver and they called it Hazelhurst. It was a family retreat for many, many years.

He was a small, but very strong man. He had red hair, blue eyes, and a sandy complexion. He was a good humored man.

He died May 28, 1967 at Swedish Hospital in Englewood. He was 87. He is buried in Fairmount Cemetery.
