Etta Johanna Lohman Carroll was the daughter of Herman Henry Lohman and Minnie Thiede and the wife of Ray Carroll. Before her marriage she was a stenographer at a bank. In 1954 she moved with her husband from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She enjoyed collecting antique glassware and china figurines. Etta was a private person, who relied on her more outgoing husband to take the lead in social situations.

"Carroll, Etta Lohman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and formerly of Wauwatosa, Wis. passed away Thursday July 21, aged 73 years, beloved wife of Ray J. Carroll, mother of Mrs. Thomas (Virginia) Corrigan of Cedarburg, Wis., Mrs. Dexter (Ruth) Cihla of Rhinelander, Wis. and James R. (Jane) Carroll, further survived by 7 grandchildren and other relatives. Services complete on Wednesday, July 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Ritter Funeral Home, 5310 W. North Av. Interment Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday after 7 p.m. Closed casket."
