From a 1956 Milwaukee newspaper obituary:
"A. H. Lohman Dies; Headed Funeral Home-Archie H. Lohman, 69, a South Side funeral director for many years, died Thursday at his home, 2432 W. Greenfield Av. He had been in ill health for several years. A lifetime resident of Milwaukee, Mr. Lohman operated the Lohman Funeral Service, 804 W. Greenfield Av., which was founded by his father in 1895 and was originally a livery business. He (Archie) was a member of the local, state and national funeral director associations, the South Side Old Settlers Club, South Side Civic Association, South Side Lions Club, the Greenfield Avenue and Mitchell Street Advancement Associations and St. Martini Evangelical Lutheran Church. His only immediate survivor, is a sister, Mrs. Etta Carroll, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Funeral services will be at 1:30p.m. Monday at his funeral home with burial in Good Hope Cemetery. The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. Sunday."
Note: Several sources incorrectly have his name as 'Archibald Lohman.' This is incorrect. All church and vital records record his name as "Archie Lohman," or "Archie Herman Lohman."
