STAR CITY —

Edith Adelia Cherry Owen, 89, of Star City died Thursday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born July 31, 1918 in Alma (Crawford County) to the late John and Amelia King Wyatt. She was a homemaker and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church near Star City.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, John Cherry; a daughter, Beverly Hackleton; a great- grandson, Sean Pearson; two brothers, Dave Wyatt and Jethro Wyatt; and three sisters, Roxie Woods, June Lewis and Evelyn Williams.

Survivors include her husband, Loyd Owen of Star City; two daughters, Sharon Pearson of Benton, Kay Blevins of White Hall; one brother, Johnny Wyatt of Havana (Yell County); a sister, Lucille Southwick of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City, with Bro. David Leopard and Bro. Jack Bates officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Owen, Chad Owen, Ray Owen, Landon Burns, Scott West, and Jason Owen.

Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
