James W. Reid Jr. was the husband of Elizabeth Baker; whom he united in marriage with on April 29, 1896, in Clay County, KY. He was the son of James Washington Reid and Sophia Garrard Reid. His great grand father, James Garrard, was the second governor of Kentucky, serving from 1796 to 1804. His grandfather, Col. Daniel Garrard, was one of the wealthiest and most enterprising citizens of Clay County, KY soon after the formation of the County. James Jr. was brother to Theophilus T. Reid, Franklin P.(Junction City, CA), William, Joseph, Lucy Reid Stivers, Daniel Garrard Reid (Redding, CA), and Stephen Bates Reid
