Funeral services for J.B. Taylor, 74, retired businessman, who died Monday at his home at 3414 Asbury, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Guardian Funeral Home Chapel. Taylor, who came to Dallas from Bonham in 1922, died of a heart attack. The Rev. Marshall Steel of Highland Park Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Cemetery. Taylor was the son of the late Col. Robert Taylor of Bonham, who was a law partner of the late James W. Throckmorton, elected Governor of Texas in 1866. Before coming to Dallas he was a wholesale and retail grocer in Bonahm. He remained a member of the Bonham First Methodist Church. His sister, the late Mrs. Mattie Taylor, was the mother of the late Tom C. Gooch, President and Publisher of the Dallas Times Herald. Survivors include his wife, Mrs, Mattie Taylor; his daughter, Mrs. Albert S. Taylor; a son, Ben D. Taylor; a nephew, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Hal Cleveland, James Threatt, Neal Thornton, Max Daniel, M.G. Taylor, and R. B. Courtney.
