Hazel I. Kennedy, 76, of Du Quoin, died Wednesday (Nov. 5, 1980) at 2:47 p.m. in Marshall Browning Hospital, Du Quoin.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Jan. 25, 1904, in Pinckneyville, daughter of Edel and Lula Mae Holmes Bird. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Du Quoin and a member of the Amoma Sunday school class. She was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge 395 and a past worthy matron.
She married Truman Edie Kennedy on May 18, 1927 in Carbondale, IL. He died Aug. 20, 1966.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Norma Jean) Horntrop of Sarasota, FL.; two brothers, Elvis H. Bird of Lowell, IN.; Lester E. Bird of Du Quoin.
Besides her parents, two brothers preceded her in death.
